We are currently offering online personal training programmes for our members, providing the same level of fitness training even whilst we have to close. Our team have compiled a few reasons below why it is important to ensure you are still moving your body even during lockdown.

Physical Benefits
It goes without saying that there are many physical benefits that come part and parcel with exercising. Whether you are hoping to shed some lockdown weight, or simply maintain good fitness, it is essential to take part in good quality exercise to help build muscle and reduce fat.
Exercising also has links to an improved immune system, which is something we are all thinking about more as a result of the pandemic. Good cardiovascular health can be achieved as a result of regular exercise, be that in the form or fitness classes, running, or plenty of long walks, all of which can be completed during lockdown.
Boost to Mental Health
It is completely normal if you have noticed a decline in your mental health since the pandemic began (check out our previous blog post: How exercise boosts your mental health). So much has changed and so many restrictions have been put in place, it can feel overwhelming.
Exercising is a great way to provide a mood boost. When you take part in a fitness class or go for a run, your body will release endorphins that will offer a euphoric, happy feeling. When you get into a regular lockdown exercise routine, you’ll find that your mood has been elevated, and you have given your mind and body something positive to focus on, even if it is just a half-hour run.
Try to Maintain Slight Normality
This might be the third lockdown, but the feeling of restriction and everything being closed is still unusual.
Whether you’re an avid exercise enthusiast, or you were just finding your feet before lockdown hit, maintaining a regular workout routine is just one way for us to retain even just a small amount of normality.
With the vaccination programme in full-force, there is light at the end of the tunnel, but until it is safe to return to full normality, exercise is just one of the things we can do to pass the time and keep ourselves in a positive mindset.
